On train

Can I just tell everyone how much we LOVE Amtrak?? First of all....when we arrived to union station 30 minutes before our train left...(whoops!), everyone in the baggage area was so accommodating as they helped us quickly jam our bikes in boxes with negative minutes before they closed the baggage loading. Sarah's bike is not on our train but will arrive in Seattle a day late...no biggie. So thank you so much Amtrak workers!!!

*if ever bringing a bike on train, a. Bring a nice pedal wrench (not a cheap one that bends...i was trying to save space and weight. Fail) and B. Arrive 90 minutes prior to departure.
**total cost of bringing bike on Amtrak:$25

Secondly, there's so much leg room!!! With room to recline and 2 foot rests!! We have a spacious set up and luckily last night there were empty seats so we were able to spread ourselves out for a comfy first nights sleep.

During one of the smoke breaks where you can step outside and get fresh air...contradictory, we know....we met a fella from Kentucky named Kent. Although we all thought he looked more like a noah. He followed us back to our seats to continue our conversations of consciousness, adventure, memories, relationships, sex education, emotion, and  meditation until we all fell asleep... We get deep on the Amtrak.

There's a lovely viewing car where seats face the windows and we met some lovely gals, Kay and Blenda, from north dakota, while our new friends, Kent and John-Erik brewed french pressed coffee.

Oh! Also more reasons Amtrak rocks... they sell a vegan burger!!!! And its not just a gross boring morning star soy patty. Its an organic veggie based burger! Way to go Amtrak!! Love it here.

Kent made oatmeal in the french press and we added some dried coconut and my homemade almond butter
